Born in Washington D.C. and lived in China,
Hong Kong, and Taiwan, moved to the U.S. in 1960
Background in Art:
Studied Chinese painting with C.P. Huang in 1955 and C.B. King in Taipei, Taiwan till 1960. Minored in Art at the University of Maryland. Studying Chinese Painting with C.C. Wang in New York City from 1981-2003. Taken workshops with Katherine Liu, Steve Cushner, Skip Lawrence, Joe Mayer, Diana Marta, etc.
Membership: Present Member of the Studio Gallery, Washington,DC since 2006. Member of The Spectrum Gallery Inc. in Washington DC, 2000-2006, Signature Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, member of The WPA/C, the Rockville Art League, and the Howard County Council for the Arts.
Juried and judged the 2016 National Sumi-e Society show in September.
Teaching Experience:
Had been guest lecture at Howard Community College for Chinese Landscape painting in May, 2001 and at Towson University Watercolor Class II for Chinese paintings in 1997 and 1998. Have been teaching Chinese Ink Painting at OASIS in Gaithersburg MD from 1999-2006. Conducted several painting workshops in Columbia in 2002 and 2003. Conducted Chinese Landscape painting workshop at Laurel Art League, 2004. Teaching private students at home since 2005. Conducted Chinese landscape painting workshop at Florence Thomas Art school in North Carolina since 2011. Invited guest lecturer at the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center in Gaithersburg, MD since 2011.
Chinese Landscape Painting workshop for the Charles County Art Alliance, MD.2007-8. Invited to demo at the Local Chapter of the Sumi-e Society at Potomac, MD, May 2008,2010 and 2014.
Gave a three-day workshop at the Local Chapter of the Sumi-e Society from Sept. 15-17, 2016
